Yes, about that hockeytalkradio.us address…
Okay, so why the “.us” in our domain name, hockeytalkradio.us? The short answer is that “.com” was taken as we readied to build this new website. The longer answer is eventually going to prove interesting (and maybe humorous) to listeners — and even show hosts. But, that’s a story for another time.
Isn’t it interesting, that we all tend to get rather comfortable with the “dot com” designation? That’s why we thought it necessary, though, to remind our listeners about the different address: hockeytalkradio.us.
Will there ever be any real confusion? Hmmmmm… Our thinking is that the “dot com” version was scooped on purpose — as soon as someone learned about our new venture, and they might be planning on a competitive station. Will they succeed? We don’t think they’ll ever match our programming, but they might manage to cause some annoying confusion. Anyway…
Once we searched for a new domain name, the “.us” jumped right out at us. No, we didn’t think “.net” would do it, nor “.org”. No, the feel just wasn’t there.
On the other hand, there was — or is — some true meaning in the “.us” designation, as in “all of us being in this thing together”.

Please don’t forget it’s: hockeytalkradio.us

To be perfectly honest, Executive Producer, Dennis Chighisola, has said that he’d never gotten too much into the fan-based-type podcasts, where the hosts rant and rave about their favorite (or least favorite) hockey teams. After having to listen to them so often as he’s programmed, though, he says he’s come to love them, and he’s even become attached to the various personalities involved. So, his guess is that new listeners will ultimately feel the same.

Chris Wassel ~ The bad kid in school who never studied and yet got good grades ended up here. Yes it was not what you expect but Mr. Wassel is truly a jack of all trades. He writes all sports but his first and true love is hockey and particularly fantasy hockey. Though the opinions are usually brash and passionate, there is a certain conscience in the mind of this writer and podcaster. Literally afraid of nothing, his shows fly in the face of conventional tendencies and often ruffle feathers along the way. He really would never want it any other way and the shows are like his children — even if they can border on uncanny hunches and the sublime from time to time. Dull is not optional here!

I believe we all have a potential soul of a lifter. We are called to lift for life. We can lift ourselves. We can lift others. I have been lifting for 45 consecutive years, 100% natural. I started lifting as an obese, dysfunctional 12-year old. Lifting transformed my life physically and mentally. In 2001, I expanded my #BasementGym by opening a 24-hour commercial gym called X Fitness Welland Inc., currently in its 15th year of operation. I lift almost every day. It’s part of who I am and will always be, but it doesn’t define me.
Lew – The producer of the show, has been a Pens fan and a hockey player his whole life. His second team is the Florida Panthers. Lew also has an unhealthy obsession with the word “bud”.
Greg – He likes to put in any input that seems correct, though most times it will be wrong, but everyone needs a punching bag. Also, Greg’s second favorite team is the Dallas Stars.
