Hockey Talk Radio

The first 'round-the-clock, all-hockey, online radio station in the world!

Hockey Talk Radio News (3/4/16)

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio NEWS…

Phew…

If you’re a faithful Hockey Talk Radio listener, you probably know that our station was down for a fairly long stretch a few days back.  Actually, it was a problem with our air-time provider, Radionomy, but I’m not complaining.  They are pros — through and through, they provide options to us that no others do, and I can’t believe the thousands of online stations they host without many glitches.

Acts of Attrition…

I’m not trying to be cute with that title, but instead I’m suggesting that Hockey Talk Radio is bound to change over it’s earliest months on the air.

As I’ve said so often, some truly great hockey podcasters helped us fill our first weeks’ programming, and I know that many of them busted their buns to meet the tough requirements set down by Radionomy.  And, trust me, that those requirements do take some extra time and effort to prepare a show for broadcast.

Perhaps the most difficult challenges are on those who host longer podcasts — or mainly NHL fan-based one that can run from an hour to two hours long.  Thankfully, the burden isn’t quite so much for the shorter, teaching-oriented podcasts that tend to run under 15-minutes per episode.

I say all this so regular listeners might expect changes to keep coming for awhile.  All I can promise — at least as it’s happened so far, is that the shows will continue to get better and better as the weeks, months and years go along.

Lastly, if you’re interested in creating your own show, scan this linked page about creating your own show for some basic info.  I’ll help further from there.

About our programming…

We have about ten or twelve great teaching-oriented podcasts that are programmed into the daytime and early evening hours — from about 9am to 9pm (EST).  Our shortest instructional shows are rerun up to four times during that span, in hopes listeners won’t miss the great advice shared by each host.  Even the longer of these shows — running close to a half- to full-hour — are rerun at least a couple of times during the daytime and early evening hours.

Our much longer, so-called NHL fan-based hockey podcasts start running a little later at night, and they continue to be rerun right through the wee hours.  There are a number of reasons for this, including the fact that some such shows include adult-type language.

One other point I know I’ve mentioned at least once before…  Although I have access to our program schedule for each day, Radionomy doesn’t so far provide a way for me to transfer that to this website, or otherwise make the schedule accessible to anyone other than yours truly.  That doesn’t mean I won’t eventually find a way to solve this problem, so please do stayed tuned.

A Hockey Diary post you really should read — about “Why You Have To Podcast”…

This is another reprint from an earlier NEWS post, as I point listeners — from all walks of life — to a recent post I did in my Hockey Diary.  For, I sincerely feel “Why You Have To Podcast” will convince a lot of listeners to do just that.  Actually, that article explores how big time celebrities now take advantage of certain media, and how even your local gardener, attorney, financial planner and others do, too.  Yes, they’re using the media, and you’re quite likely to be left behind — no matter what field you’re into, if you don’t read this article.

A Really AWESOME update…

Then, one more repeat…

Hockey Talk Radio NEWSThe latest awesome news is about our ability to share a Hockey Talk Radio player on the blogs and websites of our friends. In other words, I can now share a special code with a reputable hockey site, and our station will play right there, at the push of a button.

I’ve done that on both CoachChic.com and my Hockey Diary, just to show how it looks and works, and I’ve more recently helped some of our Hockey Talk Radio show hosts place a player on their websites.

We know blog visitors will enjoy quick access to Hockey Talk Radio, but I want to do more than that. So I plan on promoting participating blogs or sites, here on this site, and to my 18,000+ social media contacts.

The techie side of this is easy-peasy: I give you the code, and you just paste it in to where you want the player to appear. That’s it! And if you have any problems, I’ll be available to help.

Phew! Our Station Is Back Up!

March 2, 2016 by Dennis Chighisola Leave a Comment

Phew!  The announcement below was a first for me, or at least in my first several months of producing Hockey Talk Radio and dealing with Radionomy.  Personally, they take on an awesome task, in hosting thousands of shows from around the world.  So, while it might be frustrating to me and listeners — that we have an occasional glitch, I’m thankful for all they do for independent producers like me.

*

Our station has been down for most of the night of March 1, 2016.  As it turns out, the problem wasn’t only with our station, but with the entire Radionomy network.  Here’s the official announcement:

[2 MARCH 2016] MAJOR INTERNET ISSUE

Hello,

Radionomy platform encounters a major Internet issue that impacts all stations.

Our technical team is working on it to restore the connections as soon as possible.

We aplogize for the incovenience.

It’s my hope that all will be back and working in the morning — say a prayer.  🙁

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio NEWS…

Hockey Talk Radio scheduling…

I get a lot of requests for our latest Hockey Talk Radio programming schedule, to which I always have to apologize — at least for now.

It escapes me why Radionomy (the company that makes our broadcasting possible) doesn’t provide us a way to copy a schedule and then publish it.  That’s the case, however.

None of the above suggests that I won’t stop trying — you can trust me on that one.  In the meantime, I try to keep getting the word out that:  1) all our instructional type shows run all day and into the early evening hours (from about 9am to 9pm EST), while 2) all our more adult oriented NHL fan based shows run later (from about 9pm and into the wee hours).

Just so listeners (and potential new show hosts) know…

It’s possible that I’ll keep calling for new podcasters for many years to come.  That doesn’t mean we’re not already full — or close to full.

Right from Day One, I’ve had about 15 or more great show hosts.  What does happen, however, is that some find it difficult to keep up with Hockey Talk Radio’s weekly programming schedule, while some find it hard to meet Radionomy’s stringent audio needs.  I understand that where we’re going with Hockey Talk Radio isn’t for everyone, but it is going to be awesome for some.

Little by little, we’re getting more shows that promise to be with Hockey Talk Radio for years into the future.  (If you’re interested in creating your own show, scan my page about creating your own show for a little more info.)

A Hockey Diary post you really should read — about “Why You Have To Podcast”…

I linked the following post from my Hockey Diary in a recent NEWS story, and I feel it worthy of mentioning again…  “Why You Have To Podcast” actually explores how big time celebrities now take advantage of certain media, and how even your local gardener, attorney, financial planner and others do, too.  Yes, they’re using the media, and you’re quite likely to be left behind — no matter what field you’re into, if you don’t read this article.

Hockey Talk Radio News (2/3/16)

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio NEWS…

A new show is debuting right now…

Hockey Talk Radio NewsAs mentioned last week, I put out an appeal then for a podcast covering the local Tampa Bay Lightening.  And it only took a few days to make connections with a great guy, Dan Herrejon, a Chicago native now relocated to Tampa.

I listened to the new “Bolts Report” several times as I was plugging it in to our Hockey Talk Radio programming, and I was loving the format, plus Dan’s way behind the microphone.

As I always do, I suggest you put a face with the name and the show, by visiting his page:   A Little About Dan Herrejon and the Bolts Report.

A Hockey Diary post you really should read — about “Why You Have To Podcast”…

Ya, I got psyched by an Internet sports magazine article titled close to that, and just knew I had to pass on the information to all my friends, whether they’re in hockey or not.

“Why You Have To Podcast” actually explores how big time celebrities take advantage of certain media, and how your local gardener, attorney, financial planner and others do, too.  Yes, they’re using the media, and you’re quite likely to be left behind — no matter what field you’re in, if you don’t read this article.

A Really AWESOME update…

This is actually a repeat of something I offered last week, but it’s important to remind friends about it once more.

Yes, increased respect from our airtime provider, Radionomy, is bringing us more and more benefits. And this is a result of a lot of great folks — from our all-star group of podcasters to our listeners.

Hockey Talk Radio NEWSThe latest awesome news is our ability to share a Hockey Talk Radio player on the blogs and websites of our friends. In other words, I can share the code with a reputable hockey site, and our station will play right there, at the push of a button.

So I plan on promoting participating blogs or sites, here on this site, and to my 16,000+ social media contacts.

The techie side of this is easy-peasy:   I give you the code, and you just paste it in to where you want the player to appear.  That’s it!  And if you have any problems, I’ll be available to help.

More great updates…

There’s no new news on thatHockey Talk Radio NEWS Canadian Junior hockey league joining us yet, but I’ve been pushing for a number of other leagues to do just that.

In that article on Why You Have To Podcast, I mention what I went through on the job briefly as a Junior team GM and head coach, and how much a radio show presence would have made my recruiting so much easier.  We’re talking about multi-pronged benefits, too…  I mean, it would have initially been easier to spread the word about our team and league offerings via the airwaves, and then I know our parents and players would have loved to hear recaps of league play throughout the season.

So, if you’re involved in Junior hockey in any way, perhaps you can pass these ideas on to the people who should know about Hockey Talk Radio.

Even more great updates…

Shaun Goodsell’s guest appearance over the past week or so has been extremely popular, and it’s sparked him to join our programming with a regular podcast.  Shortly after bringing Shaun into the fold, Susan Salzbrenner agreed to also expand her Fit Across Cultures show to full-time status.  Talk about awesome!

Of course, I’m still looking for more shows…  I’m going to put on a real push to get a podcast from the Boston-area, covering my favorite old team, the Bruins, and I’d really like more guys or gals who feel they can share worthy advice to young, developing hockey players, their parents and their coaches. If you get a chance, scan my page about creating your own show if you’d like a little more info.

Hockey Talk Radio NewsWhat I’d really like to add is someone capable of interviewing celebrities for Hockey Talk Radio.  I’ve been in the game for over 40-years, so I have lots of contacts — including some very interesting hockey personalities — to keep an interviewer busy for a very long time.

Just so interested parties know, the best production schedule is to do one podcast episode per week, and to submit that to me late in the week for weekend programming.

Don’t forget to check on the latest Hockey Talk Radio “Show of the Week”…

Each week a new podcast is featured as the Hockey Talk Radio “Show of the Week“. Not only does that give listeners a chance to discover a little about one of our better podcasts, but a sample show is always included at the bottom of that page.

Two new shows are joining us soon…

Hockey Talk Radio NEWS

I put out an appeal last week for a podcast covering the local Tampa Bay Lightening, and it only took a few days to make connections with a great guy — a Chicago native now relocated to Tampa.

I’m sure the new podcast will have a different logo than the graphic to the right, and I can tell you that the new show will be called “Bolts Report”.  I kinda like that name, and I’m sure listeners — and especially Bolts fans — will love what’s planned for that show.

Hockey Talk Radio NEWSMaybe a little behind the Bolts Report will be a new Hockey Talk Radio show covering an entire Canadian Junior hockey league.  I think it’s a great concept, and one that should be especially appreciated by the players and their families, as that show covers league action over the past week.  I sense it can also be an awesome recruiting tool for all the teams in that league.  More on that program soon, though.

Shaun Goodsell’s guest appearance over the past week or so has been extremely popular, and it’s sparked him to join our programming with a regular podcast.  So am I attempting to get Susan Salzbrenner to expand her Fit Across Cultures show to full-time status.

Of course, I’m still looking for more shows.  I’m going to put on a real push to get a show from the Boston-area, covering my favorite old team, the Bruins.  I think more Junior hockey leagues ought to consider having their own weekly podcasts, and I’d really like more guys or gals who feel they can share worthy advice to young, developing hockey players, their parents and their coaches.  If you get a chance, scan my page about creating your own show if you’d like a little more info.

A Belated Happy New Year!

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio NEWS…

Some Plans For Hockey Talk Radio…

As one of my favorite old TV programs used to end, “I love it when a plan comes together!”  🙂

Ya, the basic plan, of course, was to establish an online hockey radio station that would please a wide array of listeners.  In other words, I hoped that Hockey Talk Radio could satisfy the needs of coaches and players of all levels, parents of developing players, and then pure hockey fans who love keeping up with the very latest in pro hockey.

Hockey Talk Radio NEWSThose familiar with my own approach to hockey probably appreciate my want to go beyond just traditional training methods — or, outside the box, as I usually call it.  Basic hockey skills are well covered (by Hockey Secrets and WeissTech Hockey), and we currently include two goalie shows (with In The Crease and Target Practice).   From there, I’ve been gradually adding shows here on slightly related skills or traits, like on nutrition (with Kim Lukhard and the Next Level Podcast), motivation (with Blunt Talk), mental training, and special approaches to sport (like with Win Now Analytics).

Okay, so here’s what I’m hoping to add pretty soon…

I have the promise of a new show readying right now, that will tell Hockey Talk Radio fans about floorball.  That’s right, floorball.  And, for those who don’t know, it’s one of the world’s fastest growing team sports, it’s a lot like our game, it has its roots abroad, and a lot of the NHL’s most skilled European players enhanced their puckhandling skills while growing up in that game.

I have the call out right now to an awesome guy who is both entertaining and extremely informative when it comes to how the human brain works.  I’m talking really scientific stuff, but explained in a way that any of us normal folks can understand.

Then, there’s one more long time friend I’m trying to convince to come on board.  He’s a big time motivator, and also as entertaining as they come.

Hockey Talk Radio NEWSAs new instructional type shows are added, they’ll likely take up more of our daytime and primetime programming hours — with the later hours reserved for more adult-type podcasts.

Still, when I put out a call for someone to do a podcast covering the local (for me) Tampa Bay Lightening, I heard back fairly soon.  I think that’s going to be a shorter show than some of the 1- and 2-hour podcasts done by the guys who cover NHL action for Hockey Talk Radio.  What we’re discussing right now is something like an end-of-the-week wrapup of the Bolts’ games, or something like “the week in review”.  We’re still making plans, but this is just one more reason for me to be psyched.

Then, on a day when I received four messages about putting shows on our station, the GM of a Canadian Junior hockey team said he’d like to do a show covering his team’s whole league.  Oh, man, talk about my juices starting to flow.  I mean, back when I was running a Junior team, I’d have loved to have gotten the kind of notoriety a radio show should provide, and think about what kind of recruiting tool that might be.

Hockey Talk Radio NEWSWith all that, I hope I’m exciting both our listeners and our current podcasters, while I also hope I’ve planted some seeds for those who have been thinking about creating their own radio show.  If that’s the case, check out what I’ve written for advice on creating your own show, and then tell me if you’d like to know even more.  I know I can help.

Hockey Talk Radio News (12/29/15)

December 29, 2015 by Dennis Chighisola Leave a Comment

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio NEWS…

A little more history to Hockey Talk Radio…

Hockey Talk RadioThis really isn’t about me, but before getting deeply into the history of Hockey Talk Radio, here’s something close to a bio I did some months ago for Massachusett’s largest hockey equipment chain, Pure Hockey:  “Interview With Coach Chic: Level 5 Coach Dennis Chighisola“.  Visitors also ought to know that I’ve had one of the longest running hockey advice sites running on the Internet in the form of CoachChic.com.

The reason for all that is to suggest that I’ve thought about little else but hockey over the past 40+ years.  I mean, I’m into hockey coaching, hockey skill development, and just about anything else you can put the word “hockey” in front of.

Oh, and one more thing…  There’s a pretty good bet that some folks within the NHL and several national federations will tell you that I’ve been ahead of the curve on too many fronts to count — from alternative training methods to skill development to team practice techniques to game strategies.

With all that, is it any wonder that I’d be the very first in the world to attempt an all-hockey online radio station?  Ha.

Actually, the idea wasn’t totally mine — I saw something like that a month or so before I launched Hockey Talk Radio, and I’ve seen a few more since.  If those stations had a problem, it was that they played music almost all day and all night, with only their own hockey podcast inserted somewhere in between.

If that worked for them, fine.  However, if you recall from above, I’m all about hockey, and hockey only.  (Oh, Hockey Talk Radio is spiced with what’s known in the broadcast industry as “bumper music”, but those catchy tunes are basically used to separate a long list of hockey podcasts that will soon grow to about twenty shows.)

Hockey Talk RadioIf I had a vision at first, it was to host all instructional shows.  In other words, I pictured having episode after episode of great coaches advising listeners on things like hockey coaching, hockey skill development, and then all the related topics — like nutrition, strength training, conditioning and more.  Thank God, that I was able to find some truly great teachers for each of those.  If there was a problem, however, it’s that there seemingly aren’t as many high level instructors out there as one might think (or as I thought).

Enter some highly entertaining fan-based shows…  Aaaaaah, talk about a great addition to a station aiming for great “hockey talk”.  I never really appreciated these NHL fan-based podcasts before, probably because I’d gotten away from pro hockey, except to study some players or to follow some of my past students.  I’ve gotten a new appreciation for them, though, and I now look forward to the next episodes to be sent me.

Hockey Talk RadioAs for the instructional and fan-based podcasts coexisting, let me suggest that the combination has been a match made in heaven for Hockey Talk Radio.  In fact, I’m discovering as these earliest weeks go along that I couldn’t get survive without both groups…  As things go now, the instructional programs are getting great reception during the daytime and drive-time hours.  A couple of short fan-based podcasts are suitable for all ages and also play well during the day, while the ones including adult language fit just right during our late-night hours and overnight.

I might remind listeners that we’re only a few months into this venture, and things are still evolving.  I don’t expect major changes any time soon, but I’m forever looking to make things better.

Besides adding a few new shows lately, there’s now an awesome new category for “Special Guests“.  These are instructors who might not be able to keep up with a regular podcast production schedule, but still have something valuable to share with our listeners.

I’m not done seeking new regular show producers, either…  As always, shorter instructional shows fit easily into our daily programming schedule, which means we can still handle several more.  Fan-based hockey podcasts, on the other hand, tend to run for 60- to 120-minutes, and consequently limit the number we can take.  If you think you’d like to consider joining our all-star group of podcasters, just visit that link, contact me, and I’ll help — a lot.

You can influence Hockey Talk Radio

Our “Show of the Week” is picked based on a number of things, including listener feedback and questions on a given show’s page.

Listeners can also influence the direction of Hockey Talk Radio by making suggestions over on our Listener Feedback page.

Announcing a new “Show of the Week”

This week’s highlighted show is Dan Bryndle’s Win Now Analytics.

Hockey Talk RadioDan’s program is truly interesting, and I can’t wait until he and I have some time to get together and share some training ideas.

I’ve done Hockey Talk Radio listeners a favor this week, too, in posting Dan’s first episode on the linked page.  That’s the episode that lays the groundwork pretty much for his unique program, and it surely caused me to want to hear more…  So, listen to that sample episode — by visiting here: New Show of the Week.

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio NEWS…

Welcoming a new hockey podcast…

It gives me great pleasure as part of our Hockey Talk Radio NEWS to introduce yet another new hockey podcast to our all-star lineup  And it’s especially gratifying to add another show aimed at educating our audience.

Hockey Talk RadioAlready we have an awesome goalie-oriented show in Mike McCarthy’s In The Crease.  And, knowing all too well as a long time head hockey coach — that everyone could use more advice in dealing with netminding, I’m doubly excited to add Chris Dyson’s new hockey podcast, Target Practice.

I’m sure most who have been around our game for awhile know Chris’ meaning when he uses that phrase, “target practice” — which is also the title of his new book.  And I’m doubly sure we’ll all learn a lot from listening to his show.

Announcing a new “Show of the Week”

Hockey Talk RadioOkay, don’t give me a hard time here, that my own show turns out to be this week’s highlighted podcast — 🙂  I did come by it honestly, however, by garnering the most comments over recent weeks.

Yes, my Coach Chic’s Hockey Secrets podcast is featured as the new “Show of the Week”, and listeners can discover more about the uniquenes of that show — and listen to a sample episode — by visiting here:  New Show of the Week.

Hockey Talk Radio News (12/5/15)

December 6, 2015 by Dennis Chighisola Leave a Comment

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio News…

Are we ahead of the curve (for the umpteenth time)?

This is absolutely beautiful…

I have to apologize first, however, before getting into the main story, by suggesting that I’ve been one lucky son-of-a-gun over my many years in business.  One does make some of his or her own good luck, though, and in my case I’m talking about my personal willingness to venture far outside my core work with coaching hockey.

Hockey Talk RadioBelieve it or not, I was kinda dragged onto the Internet by an old hockey friend, Roland Lacey, and a group of young ladies from the MIT Women’s Hockey Team.  I actually got a lot of ribbing when I started dabbling in a site called Twitter, at a time when one couldn’t find ten people there involved in hockey.  Rolly’s business friend, Steve Dubin — from PR Works, also dragged me on to LinkedIn, when one had to be invited to what I considered one the most boring places online!  🙂  LinkedIn’s switch to groups changed my mind on that, however, to the point where I’m probably one of the best known hockey coaches on that site today.  While on Twitter, this old soloist found some solace amid a group of pretty savvy members I’ve always likened to the gang who gathers around the office watercooler.  Yes, you could be sure one or more would be there if anyone had a techie or other kind of problem, and I recall that Mike Mahony invited all of us to test the new Google+ — from Angie Current to Deb Kolaras to Edward Moore to Maryse Senecal.

With that as a backdrop, my aforementioned friend, Edward Moore, posted something rather interesting to his Facebook wall this afternoon.  What caught my eye was the title, “The Smartest Entrepreneurs Are Listening to These 10 Podcasts“.  What I had expected to discover was that my favorite Internet marketers were ranked among the top ten.  What I saw within the first couple of paragraphs was something else altogether, and something kinda big…

“The rumor mill says Apple and major car manufacturers are in talks to have podcasting be the new ‘car radio'”  The author then goes on to say, “While I won’t speculate, there is no doubting that podcast listenership has grown over the years.”

Hockey Talk RadioNow, hmmmmm…  This isn’t the first time I’ve lucked out or found myself far out ahead of the curve — I’ve done that tons of times in hockey, when developing new training inventions and drills that would ultimately become staples, even with NHL teams.

Of course, all the above leads to my belief that a 24-hour per day, hockey talk radio station would fly on the Internet.  Oh, I knew nothing about things being cooked up by Apple and the automakers, and I knew nothing about the way podcast listenership has exploded over recent years.  All I did have was a gut feeling…

I hope the above links show that I’m more than willing to share credit when it’s due, and I’m even going to admit that the idea of hosting a hockey show on Radionomy wasn’t my idea.  At the same time, I’ll say that the guy who did an initial show in that format would hardly reciprocate.

Anyway, I happened upon that other “station” one day Hockey Talk Radioa few months ago, and discovered that it had only one podcast, surrounded daily with something like 23-hours of music.  That’s not an all-hockey talk format as far as I’m concerned, but more like a music station.

But, that got me thinking…  And thinking…  And Thinking…

And that also got me to recruiting hockey padcasters as fast and as furiously as I could.  The teaching kinds of shows were kind of easy for me, because I mix often with those types.  The hard part was getting some fan based and a few other types of podcasters to believe in my dream — and thank God, they did.

For sure, there’s a lot more to be done developing Hockey Talk Radio.   And surely, I can be more selective now, as I add just a few more shows to our daily planning.  What I really hope, however, is that I’ll soon develop a way to financially reward our current show hosts.  More and more listeners will make that possible, of course, plus a lot more work on my part.

Yet another podcast joins us this week!

Hockey Talk RadioI’m thrilled to announce that we have yet another awesome teaching oriented hockey podcast joining us this week, in the person of Chris Dyson, a goaltending specialist from Target Practice.  There will be much more information provided about Chris and his program, on a soon to be developed page.

As regular listeners know, we already have an excellent netminding coach, Mike McCarthy, with his In The Crease show.  As a long time hockey head coach, I think two highly experienced coaches are going to provide our listeners with many similar ideas as well as a few different ones. And that, I see as extremely healthy.

In closing — for this week, I’m appealing to all Hockey Talk Radio fans to comment on the page of your favorite show hosts.  Their popularity is one way they get to be named our “Show of the Week”.

Here’s the latest goings on with Hockey Talk Radio News…

A New Hockey Podcasting Feature!

As I’ve come to discover, there are some specialists out there who produce some podcasts that might be awesome for our Hockey Talk Radio listeners.  If there’s a problem, they might have tons of episodes with only one or two being geared toward our sport, or they might only have a handful of episodes in total.  Of course, there’s room for those kinds of shows here on Hockey Talk Radio, so long as they can help either hockey coaches, parents or players.

Shaun Goodsell

With that, I’ve already begun enlisting a few such shows — call them Special Guests, and I wouldn’t mind hearing from other podcasters who might fall in a similar category to those described above and below.

We’re beginning this week with The Mental Edge’s Shaun Goodsell interviewing goaltending specialist Justin Johnson.  They mainly talk about the mental side of goaltending, but Justin also offers some great advice about the recruiting process.

Susan Salzbrenner

Also joining us this week is Susan Salzbrenner, with a special episode geared toward athletes and their use of social media.  Hockey Talk Radio listeners should know that Susan’s collection of shows is titled “Fit Across Cultures”, and that each episode is mainly aimed at helping athletes discover the benefits of playing sports overseas.  Not all her shows are necessarily of interest to hockey folks, though, so Susan and I are going to sort through nearly 50 shows to bring you the most appropriate.

Have I caused any non-hockey podcasters to think?  Yes, it’s quite possible that shows other than hockey-specific ones could still be right for Hockey Talk Radio.

As an aside here, I’m thinking back to the weeks just prior to the launch of Hockey Talk Radio, and to the many podcasters who chose not to join us.  I can totally understand them, in a way, since the concept of a ’round-the-clock, online hockey radio station probably did sound far fetched at the time.  Thankfully, however, the proof is in the pudding after just a few months, and those podcasters who have joined us are already becoming household names in the hockey world.  (Yes, I love it when a plan comes together!  🙂 )

In closing for this week, I urge listeners to visit all our podcasters’ pages, so that you might be able to put a face with each voice.  Those hard working ladies and gentlemen show hosts would also like you to comment on their pages.
